I love reading how you approach parenting. Its such a clever way to re-enforce learning whilst playing and observing the environment. There is no better “teaching” method than experiencing it firsthand and I truly believe that these experiences will be forever captured in your child’s memories.

I have lately questioned the schooling system tremendously, especially now during COVID-19. These kids have continued to be resilient outside of the “industrial” way of schooling. I am questioning what life skills our kids are acquiring in a schooling system that has been build on old values and cultures. I believe COVID-19 has taught us and our kids that there is more to live than just the tedious routine of everyday. You cannot connect with nature if you do not live it, and you cannot appreciate nature if you have not lost a bit of it.

There is a quote by Aristotle that says, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all” and this is so true. We all learn the most from experience, memories, and the way we emotionally connect to the situation and there is no better gift that you can give your child. No toys would ever replace what he has been taught over the holiday. Well done on creating experiences for your child instead of flooding him with gifts and toys.
